Never miss your favourite show while you’re away again… Keeping up with the UK news and other TV programmes can be a lot easier – and cheaper – than you think!
Perhaps watching TV isn’t the first thing you think of when you imagine the joys of a motorhome holiday. More likely, it’s the promise of the open road, the infinite possibilities and the joy of rolling up to a beautiful scenic spot just as the sun is going down and rolling straight out of your seat and into your holiday.
But if you are a seasoned motorhomer, you might also recognise the benefits of being able to turn on the TV for a few minutes to catch the latest news headlines or spending a comfortable evening curled up watching your favourite show and ignoring the rain coming down outside. For parents, the possibilities of putting the kids in front of the TV while you prepare for a day’s outing is another godsend.
The new Maxview VUQube 2
That’s why, TMC Motorhomes is pleased to announce a special new package for a robust and effective new satellite solution – the Maxview VUQube 2 Fully Automatic Satellite. This compact dish delivers great performance and is ideal for use across the UK and Europe – giving you access to a wide range of UK and European channels.
You can choose between portable use or use the included mount rack for a permanent roof fitting. If you choose permanent fitting, the integrated handle and alarm system ensures the dish remains secure.
We’ll even fit the dish, wiring and the compact internal control panel for you as part of the package price, if you’d like us to.
What can I watch?
You can receive transmissions from the four major European satellites: Astra 1, Astra 2, Astra 3 and Hotbird. This gives you access to the Sky subscription service via Astra 2. In the UK, Astra 2 will also provide access to free-to-air UK digital channels too.
By contrast, the Astra 1 satellite mainly serves the central European region and is dominated by German channels, with a number of French channels and a couple of Polish and Spanish channels. Hotbird serves Eastern Europe, but it is possible to pick up the BBC News channel with it, as well as Bloomberg and Euronews.
If you are thinking about travelling in Europe, you may want to look into programming services to which you can subscribe but here in the UK the dish will effectively give you free access to UK free-to-air channels.
